Holiday thoughts

What a whirlwind this holiday season has been. Hopped over to a nearby resort island for Christmas and enjoyed a fantastic turkey dinner (my first in more than 2 years!), courtesy of Freddie. Then to the city of Jogyakarta for a few days over New Year's. More on that to come. Then into the jungles of Borneo (Kalimantan) to hang out with the orangutans and the people of the local Dayak tribe (apparently they are head hunters!).

My senses were overwhelmed, visiting so many worlds so close, yet so far apart from eachother. The bright lights, noise, crowded markets and pollution of the big city, compared to the sounds of the jungle lulling us to sleep at night, fresh air, and inability to communicate with the outside world.

I will write more in the coming days. Just wanted to let you know I am still kicking!

I watched you on A news in London and i was sorry to see you leave. I can see you are very happy at what you are doing now. You are an inspiration to all people, a true lady and a scholar. The world and the people thank you.

Thanks for the kind comments Blakeooo7. While I miss some aspects of the tv world, this was definitely the right decision for me to be making at this point in my life. I never in a million years thought that I'd be getting to experience some of the things I now am.

Janice, adventure is the right word for sure. Miss you. Big hugs!

I asked Tara Overholt about you, we are hearing so much about the Red Cross these days. She gave me the link to this site. It is an honor to hear from someone doing such a noble deed. I don't know if i could trust those animals though. Therefore i think its safe to say you are Bold and Beautiful. I really loved that story you did when you tried to live off welfare dollars. I believe that really shed some light on just how tough it is for some people to live like that. Keep up the good work Kathy and take care the angels are watching you, they may even learn a thing or 2 ..lol..

Wow, Blakeooo7, thanks for the amazing comments. I have to admit, I sometimes wondered if my stories for news had any impact on the audience. Being in the jungle was an incredible experience. It's amazing to see how close to people orangutans really are. Or perhaps we're really close to being like them? Thanks for following
